But if for some reason that doesn't work out, you may want to consider a stand alone tool like Magic Packet. Hopefully Brian can address your needs to get WOL running with CM, that would be great and is beyond the scope of CMC. That will at least address this portion of your WOL requirements. I've used that for a long time, before I needed all the shares to be on when using CMC, as it wasn't handling offline shares, which is when I switched to on Windows Startup. It works fine though with my slow to start QNAP I had to set a delay of 600 secs or so. Playback, if you want the NAS to be woken up when playback starts and if the NAS is off. I've stopped using WMC for playback but I plan to keep using CM for a long time :) Thanks and happy new year! It's not because WMC isn't used anymore that the feature cannot still be useful when using CM. So given that WMC is deprecated and that less and less people use it, please could you consider either changing the "MyMovies start-up" so that it sends the WOL packet when CM is started, or add another option when CM starts (not the background task, the actual CM app)? Maybe something got broken re that option? I can test it now that I've installed WMC, but the feature works overall, as it works fine on Windows Startup. If "MyMovies Startup" actually works when you start WMC, I suggest you either change it to CM, or you add another option for CM. The question is whether it starts the NAS when you start CM or when you start WMC, as it doesn't seem to do anything when you start CM. MyMovies Startup is the one I'm not sure about. Sleep Resume worked fine during initial tests but I never really used it as I don't use sleep. I remember because you kindly implemented WOL on my request, and we tested it together at the time :) - Disabled, obviously works :) - Windows Startup, which is what I've been using in the past few years, so that all my shares start when I start the HTPC, as I used to use the HTPC exclusively to play films or to manage them with CM, which isn't the case anymore. Is there any way to lift this restriction? I use this to start the NAS whenever I start CM, to make sure that all the titles are online and to make sure CM can make changes when I edit a title.

Ah, thanks Brian, I'll have to install it on my new HTPC then.
I just want it to scan for changes at start up or when I refresh manually.This is only available if you have Windows Media Center installed. But changing files isn't something I want a media server to mess with. Actually JRiver doesn't work like this, images for recognized albums are pulled from the internet to display slideshows. I don't want to fix something for JRiver then put it on my phone and find out the file a lot larger than was previously. Tagging I've done were for a Digital Audio Player or my smartphone which aren't necessarily the same resolution.
Well, I don't want JRiver using that file necessarily. But I'd rather have to redo the work within JRiver than deal with trying to fix things that external to the system. This is something of pain to set up because all the tagging I did previously has to be redone. JRiver doesn't use tags of the files, it creates it's own tagging. The changes are updated to JRiver's internal tables. Why would it change anything on the NAS? I use JRiver and all it does is scan folders for changes.
